We’re Michael and Gem, the founders of Six Seis Taquería. What began as a small food pop-up in London has grown into two independent Mexican restaurants on the Barcelona coast.

THE JOURNEY

It started with a backpack and a journey through South America. The places we visited, the people we met and the food we shared inspired us to create something of our own. In 2015, we launched our first pop-up in London. Food trucks and events around the UK followed, giving us the chance to develop our recipes and our approach to hospitality.

A NEW HOME IN SITGES

With our dogs Taco and Lily beside us, we left London for life by the Mediterranean. Sitges felt like home: a town full of energy, character and people from all over the world. After years on the road, we opened Six Seis Sitges as our first permanent restaurant. We wanted a welcoming place where friends could meet over tacos, margaritas and good conversation.

THE NEXT CHAPTER: VILANOVA

As Six Seis grew, we found another home a short way along the coast in Vilanova i la Geltrú. Our second restaurant carries the same spirit into its own local community. Sitges is where our restaurant story began; Vilanova is where it continued.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND SIX SEIS

Our team brings different backgrounds and experiences to the table. From the kitchen to the people who welcome you at the door, they make both restaurants feel personal. We’re grateful to them and to everyone in Sitges and Vilanova who has become part of the Six Seis story.
